There is
almost nothing better than being out on the mountain with the
sun shining brightly. As you take off down the mountain whether on
or off-piste, there is a spring in your step and you wouldn't want
to be anywhere else. At the end of the day you feel tired but
exhilerated with your lungs full of clean alpine air and a sense of
healthiness that only comes from a day in the sun.
It all
sounds fantastic but have you just added to your chances of
suffering from a life threatening disease or did you do the sensible
thing and protect yourself?
The dreaded Cancer is not
to be sniffed at but we don't need to suffer from it if we look
after ourselves. The mountain sun is much stronger than at home, not
only because it is higher up, but there is less air pollution
between you and the sun and the white snow acts as a mirror and
reflects the sun, so there is no way to get away from its
potentially dangerous rays.
